Vice Chancellor's Message

The Sun on the Rise Again at Olabisi Onabanjo University

I appreciate the warm welcome that I have received from all stakeholders in the university since I assumed duty as Acting Vice Chancellor. The task of rebuilding and moving Olabisi Onabanjo University to our desired goal of a 21st century citadel of leaning and research is enormous but with the cooperation of all those with an interest in the restoration of its glory, the sun will definitely rise again.

As head of the management team, I pledge my commitment to ensuring, in the immediate, the efficient use of available manpower and existing material resources. I shall do my best to ensure, through the Governing Council, substantial improvement in funding, student and staff welfare and additions to infrastructures.

In doing this, the management is committed to redressing the identified shortcomings and inadequacies in the university. This includes the entrenchment of trust and respect in the polity so that students and workers would share the same vision and commitment. The development of trust rests on compliance with university laws, rules and regulations. The management, under my leadership, commits itself to ensure transparency, integrity, fairness, justice and equity within the community.

Let us all pledge ourselves a new to rebuilding a University that has an enviable past.

Prof. Saburi Adejimi Adesanya
